Maclean is centrally located to the beautiful beaches of Iluka, Yamba, Angourie and Brooms Head all within 30 minutes drive. Major nearby towns include Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Ballina, Lismore, and Byron Bay. Maclean Outdoors is located in the CBD, only 80 metres from the public boat ramp. We carry every kayak model in Hobie's fleet in every available colour. 

We specialise in Hobie Kayaks, offering traditional kayaks as well as the unique pedal (and or sail) powered Mirage kayaks, featuring Hobie's patented Mirage Drive. Quest 11 and Revo 11 kayaks are go

We're very pleased to announce that Hobie latest new model kayaks - the Quest 11 and Revolution 11 have arrived. A couple of feet shorter than their larger 13' bigger brothers, these new 11' kayaks offer similar performance and characteristics, but are notably shorter and lighter. Both models are set to swiftly establish themselves among the 'best-sellers' in Hobie's range. 

Yakass Coastal Kayak Fishing Show E7

Josh has published episode 7 of the Yakass Coastal Kayak Fishing Show, which covers an 8-day kayak fishing trip on the west coast of Fraser Island. Using Adventure Island trimarans Carl, Holger and Josh launched from Hervey Bay and sailed over 50km on the 1st day to Wathumba creek, which they used as a base from which to go forth in search of fish each day. And as usual, the boys caught some great fish along the way!

Daiwa Hobie(R) Kayak World Fishing Championships

Hobie Fishing Australia have just announced the very first World Kayak Fishing Championships, set to be held here in Australia later this month. This is intriguing news and it's going to be very interesting to see how this plays out. Here's the important info from the press release:

Hobie Cat Australasia in conjunction with Daiwa Australia, announce that eighteen competitors from five nations, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, USA and Australia, will compete in the inaugural Hobie world kayak fishing championships.  The tournament will be held in Australia, on the New South Wales mid north coast, starting on October 27 at Camden Haven on the Camden Haven River, moving to the Hastings River at Port Macquarie on October 29 and 30.

Day one of the International competition will be a standalone event.  However, on the starting signal, at 7am on the weekend of October 29 – 30, the spectacular sight of 67 pedal powered Hobie MirageDrive® Pro Angler kayaks will leave the beach.  The world championship competitors will be joined on the water by grand finalists from the 13 rounds, held throughout Australia, of the Daiwa Hobie ABT Kayak Fishing Series. Live weigh-ins of the catches will take place on the waterfront grassed area at the Water’s Edge Boutique Hotel, Buller Street Port Macquarie, from 2pm on each of the three days of the world championship competition.
